Malaysia to Singapore VTL and Explore Singapore!

Singapore recently launched Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) where fully vaccinated individuals may enter the country and no quarantine is needed. Therefore, it has greatly saved travelers time. As of November 29th, Malaysia has been listed as one of the countries that can benefit from the perk through VTL flights and buses.

Singaporeans can travel to Malaysia through a quite similar process. But safe to double-check the things Malaysians have to do if they’re planning to enter Singapore.

Malaysia to Singapore Entry Requirement

Singapore entry through VTL (Land)

  • Download the TraceTogether app to facilitate contact tracing while you’re in Singapore.
  • Register with Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) for VTL (Land). This is only applicable for long-term pass-holder traveling from Malaysia to Singapore.
  • Print the Vaccination Certificate with its QR code while the long-term pass-holder has to print VTP as well.
  • Purchase your bus ticket at Causeway Link or Transtar
  • Submit SG Arrival Card (SGAC) under foreign visitor.
  • Purchase medical or travel insurance coverage for COVID-19 treatment or hospitalization.
  • Take professionally administered ART/PCR test two days before departure. Upon arriving at Queen Street Terminal or Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange, another test is required.
  • Perform RTK self-tests on the third and seventh day after arrival and to be reported in MySejahtera.

Singapore entry through VTL (Air)

  • You must not have any travel history outside of Singapore or VTL countries in the past 14 days. So, if you’re just staying in Malaysia for the past 14 days, you’re fine.
  • Download the TraceTogether app to facilitate contact tracing while you’re in Singapore.
  • Book your VTL flights and self-isolation hotel.
  • Purchase medical or travel insurance coverage for COVID-19 treatment or hospitalization.
  • Register with Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP). Do take note that if you once have registered with VTP for VTL (Land), is not transferable to the VTL (Air). You have to register for a new application.
  • Take professionally administered ART/PCR test two days before departure. Upon landing at Changi Airport, another test is required. You can stay at the self-isolation hotel for a little while until the result shows negative.
  • Perform RTK self-tests on the third and seventh day after arrival and to be reported in MySejahtera.

Children aged two and below are exempted from this requirement. However, they do need to be accompanied by vaccinated adults.
