Treating yourself to a shopping spree doesn’t necessarily mean emptying your wallet, especially in Taytay, Rizal. Dubbed as the Garments Capital of the Philippines, the town is a bargain hunter’s paradise with the bustling center attracting hordes of shoppers daily. One can spend hours browsing the various tents with tiangge vendors selling everything from trendy fashion items to home accessories—all with crazy cheap price tags!

The online portal Taytay Local allows people to buy what they need from the comfort of their own homes but let’s face it, there’s nothing quite like the experience of shopping in a physical store. By now, Taytay has earned a reputation as the metro’s hub for cheap clothes. There are plenty of halls to explore, but first-time visitors can start at some of the major stops: Bagpi Garment Center, IGPAI Garments Center (Taytay Mega Tiangge), Freedom Bazaar, and My Seoul Tiangge. Many of these shopping centers open earlier than malls at around 8 or 9 AM, so you can fill up with breakfast and start exploring the labyrinth of stalls first thing in the morning.

Wherever you go, you’ll be treated to racks and racks of clothes in a variety of colors and styles. Fashionistas can stay on trend with the bazaar’s extensive collection of garments, from cute co-ords and summery dresses to activewear and sleepwear. Textile stores, outlet shops, and seamstresses are also available.

Due to the sheer affordability and the wide range of stylish options, it’s no surprise that Taytay quickly became just as popular as other shopping hubs like Greenhills and Divisoria.
