Most Insta-Perfect Cafes You Gotta Check Out In Southern Luzon

Southern Luzon has a varied scenery that unrolls and transforms as you go from town to town. And local cafes blend in beautifully, echoing the character of the towns they call home. That leaves your camera without break—because, after your sightseeing of Taal Volcano from Tagaytay or the sunkissed beaches of Batangas, you won’t be able to resist snapping photos of these Instagrammable cafes as well.

The Dining Room at Gourmet Farms in Silang, Cavite

via The Dining Room at Gourmet Farms

We’ve been gushing over Tagaytay cafes overlooking Taal Volcano a lot—especially the most Insta-worthy Bag of Beans—so you can go ahead and check this list. But today, we’ll focus on another beautiful side of Cavite, which is the prevalence of farms and gardens.

Gourmet Farms is a must-visit for coffee lovers for its brews of locally grown coffee. We also love the new al-fresco garden setup of The Dining Room, where the surrounding trees and plants feel very alive and natural. This is complemented by the cafe’s salad bar, where you can choose from multicolored vegetables fresh from the farm.

Location: Km. 52 Aguinaldo Hwy, Silang, Cavite
Hours: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m (Weekdays), 7 a.m. – 7 p.m (Weekends)

Homespun at Santan Cafe in Calauan, Laguna

via Homespun Cakes and Pastries

Inside out, Homespun at Santan Cafe is Insta-worthy—inside, a minimalist cafe; outside, the natural scenery of mountains and meadows that you can appreciate via al-fresco dining. Homespun was born a cake and pastry maker, which eventually grew into a hole-in-the-wall cafe in the college community of Los Baños. Now, it has expanded with a new branch in Calauan, serving espresso-based and handcrafted coffee to pair with Santan’s specialties that transport you to Bicol. Homespun’s ceramic ware for food and tea also couldn’t escape our lenses.

Location: National Hwy (Beside Queen Lois Restaurant), Calauan, Laguna
Hours: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Tue – Thu), 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Fri – Sun)

Popoy’s Kapihan in Calamba, Laguna

via Rei L.

We’ve decided to let you in on a secret in Laguna: there’s a little coffee spot amid a complex of garden shops in Calamba, Laguna. Popoy, the CEO, is pictured above posing proudly in front of the cafe. He is very photogenic, which is enough reason to qualify the cafe as Insta-perfect. But the garden plants are also an ever-present sight for sore eyes.

Popoy’s specialty is coconut coffee frappe brewed using moka pot, which gives it just the right kick. It’s best paired with the cafe’s no-bake blueberry cheesecake or carrot cake.

Location: RBR Laguna Gardens, Bgy. Bagong Kalsada, Calamba, Laguna
Hours: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Indie Green Culture Cafe in San Luis, Batangas

via Indie Green Culture – Cafe

Remember Dreamland Arts & Crafts Cafe in Tagaytay? They may have already closed there, but the dream stays ashore in Batangas. It continues in Indie Green Culture, a cafe that promotes not only indie artistry but also a green and sustainable lifestyle.

The cafe itself is eclectically designed with an expressive mishmash of colors and patterns and lots of mesmerizing dreamcatchers. You can buy one for yourself, and even learn how to make one—or choose from other handmade accessories and arts and crafts that can give your own home a touch of boho.

We’re willing to take our Southern Luzon cafe hunting offshore if it takes us to El Nido, Palawan. From beachside bars to souvenir shops and artist communities, almost every corner is Instagrammable. But Artcafé El Nido will always be a great start, especially for first-time visitors. It is part of El Nido Boutique and Artcafé, a one-stop-shop for artsy-craftsy souvenirs, beach rentals, and tours.

The main cafe is on the second floor, with a colorful balcony facing the beach. There’s a wide array of menu options, from farm-to-table dishes and freshly baked pastries to delicious coffee and tropical drinks.
