Klang is one of the oldest cities in Malaysia and started out as a mining city with a port attached. Today, it still holds its traditional values as an industrial suburban town that is often visited for its history and food.

Once you’re in Klang, the first thing to do is to have breakfast. A staple is Bak Kut Teh or Chi Kut Teh (same dish but substituted with chicken) which is a traditional pork rib dish cooked in broth for hours till the meat falls off the bone. This dish is kept in families and recipes are passed down from generation to generation. If you have time head over to the Klang Traditional Industry and Bah Kut Teh D.I.Y. Tour

Explore Klang and marvel at the historical buildings and significant cultural sites. Walk through the old streets featuring pre-war buildings. Finish the tour by viewing the blue tears in the firefly tour. Marriage is by family arrangement but the couple has the right to refuse during the seven rituals which the couple will have to undergo.

Dinner

Since you’re already in Carrey Island, have diner here since there is an abundance of fresh seafood for your picking. Here you can also go fishing and take your catch to any of the restaurants to be cooked. The thing that makes the seafood here so completely delicious is that what you’re going to eat was alive moments before it’s cooked ensuring a freshness you can’t find elsewhere.

There you have it! A perfect day in Klang experiencing all the best this city has to offer. Be sure to go hungry as there are lots of tasty temptations that might make you stray from your itinerary but we say go for it!
