Literally one of the most magical places in Genting Highlands, you cannot miss going to the Kuala Gandah Elephant Conservation Centre. First opened in 1989 it is the only dedicated elephant sanctuary in Malaysia and it houses about 500 elephants all of whom have been rescued. These gorgeous beauties were once victims of poaching and habitat loss but they thrive here as a result of proper care and respect. It takes 45 minutes to travel here from the centre of Genting Highlands but all that time is worth it to see such gentle giants up close and personal.
