Feel Safe When You Get a Haircut at These Hair Salons and Barbershops

Who doesn’t want to be pampered?

After a long week in the new normal—working from home, doing the groceries and what-have-you—all we want is to just wind down, chill, and be spoiled. The good news is: salons and barbershops in areas under general community quarantine a.k.a. GCQ (like Metro Manila) can now offer other hair treatments aside from your usual haircut. As of this writing, salons and barbershops are allowed to operate at a maximum of 75% operational capacity, which means physical distancing in most of these establishments is still strictly enforced. Are you itching to refresh your quarantine look but also want to feel safe? We came up with a list of salons and barbershops that are extremely compliant with health protocols vs. COVID-19. (Note: these salons and barbershops require face masks and face shields. Get your face mask and face shield here.)

Bruno’s Barbers

Bruno’s Barbers has been pampering Filipino clients since 1989—its sleek and modern interiors can instantly make their clients (mostly gentlemen) feel relaxed. Under the new normal setting, clients can walk in anytime, or set an appointment online. Barbers and other staff are strictly required to wear face masks and face shields, while clients cannot take off their masks during their treatment. A health declaration is required during your visit, and you can also go cashless with your payment. Haircut starts at P400.

Basement Salon opened with extra care when the lockdown eased into GCQ. Upgrade your style with their services: from haircut (P250-P2000, depending on the length and on the stylist), hair color (P3,500-P7,200, depending on the length and the number of your requested colors) to hair treatments (P2,400-P3,000 for the Aveda Hair Treatment; P2,400 for the Scalp Treatment). As their stylists and artistic directors follow strict measures, they announced an additional fee of P200 on top of their services to be extra compliant with anti-COVID measures.
