Baguio City Reopens Tourism To Local Residents

Following last month’s reports about Baguio City reopening to tourism, the city government has eased quarantine protocols and decided to open parks for local tourists to enjoy.

Several attractions, including the iconic Burnham Park, are strictly following safety measures such as requiring visitors to wear masks and practice physical distancing to curb the spread of the virus in the city, which has seen over 300 confirmed COVID-19 cases since March.

Other outdoor activities are also in the works to aid in the transition to the new normal.

Soon, Baguio City residents might be able to participate in activities such as drive-in movies, boating at Burnham Lake, horseback-riding at the Wright Park, and more.

Meanwhile, the plans for welcoming outside visitors remain suspended.
