The gates of Hong Kong Disneyland have finally reopened!
On 18 June, Thursday, your favorite Disney characters along with cast members welcomed guests back to the resort with much fanfare and, of course, health and safety measures in place to keep visitors reassured amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
To mark the special occasion, a celebration was held along Main Street U.S.A. overlooking the Castle of Magical Dreams prior to the reopening and was hosted by Stephanie Young, the Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland. She was joined by beloved Disney characters including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy.
“I am grateful for the support of the incredible Hong Kong community, commitment of medical staff, and dedication of our cast members who managed through this challenging time,” Young said. “The health and safety of our guests and cast members continue to be at the forefront of our minds, and our cast members have been working tirelessly to put all the necessary measures in place for guests to enjoy a magical visit.”
As Hong Kong adjusts to the new normal, Hong Kong Disneyland demonstrates a deliberate approach with innovative and enhanced health and safety measures—under the guidance of health and government authorities.
Among the park’s latest procedures are advance reservations, social distancing in queues, and the implementation of increased frequency when it comes to cleaning and sanitation.
