‘Tis the season to be jolly! Yes, it’s that time of the year again where streets are adorned with various Christmas decorations that give everyone a festive mood. There are a lot of places all over the world that holds Christmas lights show but, Taiwan aims to snatch the title of organizing the best and the brightest light show with its 2019 Christmasland.
The 2019 Chirstmasland has already kicked off in New Taipei City with the theme of Christmas Magical City. It is said to feature the largest light projection in history covering a total projected area of 8,800 square meters. The 2019 Christmasland features three different locations in New Taipei City.
There are light shows in (1) Civic Plaza, (2) Banqiao Station Square, and (3) Wanping Metropolitan Park. Each location comes with its respective lights display that will make your Christmas merry and bright. The Civic Plaza comes with a theme of Santa Bear’s Magical Town; while the Banqiao Station Square comes with Magic Forest; and the Wanping Metropolitan Park has a Kanahei’s Shining Christmas Dream.
The “Twin Towers + Christmas Tree” laser light show is the highlight among all the attractions and display in the 2019 Christmasland. The government of New Taipei City team up with Banqiao Station Building and New Taipei City Hall to create the so called “Taiwan Twin Towers.” The towering Christmas tree at the Civic Plaza is projected with 12 sets of laser lights, a sight to behold.

The Twin Towers + Christmas Tree is made possible through laser light projections on the walls of New Taipei City Hall and the south wall of Banqiao Station. The laser lights create a 360-degree multi-layered 3D light show, which gives you an all-dimensional visual feast. The laser light show runs daily from 5:30pm to 12 midnight. The main light show will be from 5:30pm to 10pm—with show intervals every 30 minutes.
Aside from the Twin Towers + Christmas Tree laser light show in Civic Plaza, the 2019 Christmasland event has several other attractions you need to check out. One of which is the Christmas Gate, which is standing in front of the South Gate of the City Hall. It features the mysterious Santa Bear Elf to welcome everyone who step into this magical world. There are also two free amusement rides in Civic Plaza: (1) Sweet Coffee Cup and (2) Lavender Merry-Go-Round.

Magic Forest in New Taipei City (Banqiao Station Square)
The Magic Forest in New Taipei City features images, light installations, pop-up shops of fantastic and popular cartoon characters, and more. The lights display in Banqiao Station Square includes inspiration from Taiwan’s local cultural elements. The light installations are created by artists who have won the A’ Design Award in the fields of hand-painting, illustration, and structural art.

The lights display at Kanahei’s Shining Christmas Dream features popular cartoon characters Piske and Usagi. Fans of Kanashei’s Small Animals will love the displays at Wanping Metropolitan Park.
