As an upscale shopping hub, Orchard Road is one of Singapore’s busiest and most popular streets, but during the holidays, it transforms into a real Christmas wonderland. Millions of visitors flock to soak in the festive mood every year with colorful lights and sounds brightening up the famous lane.

This year, the theme of the Christmas Light-Up is “The Greatest Gift” with the festivities now including Grange Road and Orchard Link. The Christmas Light-Up in Orchard Road will run until January 1, 2020.

Travel to Kobe, Japan for a light display with roots in tragedy. The Kobe Luminarie is an annual light festival that pays tribute to the victims of the devastating Great Hanshin earthquake in 1995. Every year since that year, downtown Kobe gets decked out in thousands upon thousands of tiny hand-painted light bulbs. From December 6 to 15, 2019, the lights will be turned on for a few hours a night.

If you find yourself in another part of Japan, drop by Osaka to witness Universal Studios Japan’s Crystal Christmas Show. Get a ticket via KKday and see the incredible Universal Crystal Tree filled with lights.

Many locals in Metro Manila make the trip to see the light and sound show every year, enjoying the dancing Christmas lights and festive music. For tourists who are visiting the country, there are few destinations in the metro more spectacular than Ayala Triangle during the holidays.
