Harajuku Shopping Guide For The Most Kawaii Stuff

If you’re into the sparkly culture of kawaii, you must include Harajuku in your Tokyo itinerary. Harajuku is the area around Harajuku Station in Tokyo where you can find all-out cosplay and fabulous Japanese street fashion.

You can learn more about the Harajuku fashion on Takeshita Street, where almost everything is pink, purple, and peppy, from trendy boutiques to Harajuku girls. Before you get lost in this charming paradise and spend on just about anything, here’s your Harajuku shopping guide for the most kawaii stuff.

Bodyline

Jingumae 1-6-15

Bodyline’s fashion store has something for everyone. If you’re into Lolita, a style inspired by Victorian and Edwardian children’s clothes from the Rococo period, you can find bell-shaped skirts and lacy dresses in pastel or dark colors. For adventurous cosplay enthusiasts, you can grab clothes in different themes, such as animals, cartoon characters, cheerleaders, and police officers—among many others.

Kawaii Monster Cafe

However, if you are traveling to Japan with kids, we advise you not to go to the Kawaii Monster Cafe on a Thursday night, between 8 PM and midnight—that’s when they stage burlesque performances, and you have to be at least 20 years old to get in.
