Universal Studios Is Opening A New Theme Park—And It’s Going To Be Epic

For the first time in more than two decades, Universal is building a brand new theme park in Orlando. What’s it going to be called? Epic Universe.

On their official blog, Universal Orlando Resort assured fans and park goers that their upcoming theme park will deliver nothing short of what its name suggests.

Universal’s Epic Universe promises to offer an elevated variety of experiences that will redefine theme park entertainment, pushing guests to venture beyond their wildest imagination and set forth on a journey through their beloved stories. Here, Universal guarantees that the journey will be just as astounding as the destination.

As for the new location, the 750-acre site nearly doubles the size of the company’s current footprint in Orlando. It will feature rides and attractions, an entertainment center, hotels, shops, restaurants and more to fill in all your holiday needs.

At the moment, Universal has not dropped any hints on the opening date, but the new park is rumored to include attractions based on How To Train Your Dragon, Universal Classic Monsters (Dracula, Bride of Frankenstein, and more), an expansion of the Wizarding World featuring the Fantastic Beasts franchise, and—gamers will love this—Nintendo’s most popular video games.

Back in 2015, Universal announced a momentous partnership with the video game heavyweight. The world’s first Super Nintendo World is currently being built at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, which is set to open next year.
