If you’re the type of traveler who finds serenity in visiting aquariums during a trip, you’ll be glad to know that Kuala Lumpur has two world-class indoor marine parks that never fail to leave guests wonderstruck every time.
Making a stop at the KL Tower? Be sure to check out the Blue Coral Aquarium. If you’re looking for a bigger one, however, Aquaria KLCC at the iconic Petronas Towers is the place to go! Here are five tips that will make your visit extra-memorable:
Book Your Tickets In Advance
Aquaria KLCC is among Kuala Lumpur’s popular attractions, so you can expect long lines at the ticket counters, especially during weekends and public holidays. If you wish to skip the queues, it would be best for you to book your tickets in advance. That way, you get to save some of your precious time and money (yep, purchasing your tickets online is cheaper!).
Take Your Time At The Exhibits
The marine park boasts a whopping number of exhibits (5,000!) across a 60,000-square foot area. We don’t know about you, but a place like that deserves to be explored through and through! Begin your journey at the Evolution Zone and make your way through the Living Tunnel, a 90-meter underwater tunnel walkway that’s known as the longest of its kind in the country. Keep your eyes open for tiger sharks, sea turtles, and a wide variety of colorful fish.
Know The Feeding Schedules
Before you go, see to it that you’ve checked the aquarium’s feeding schedules, so you can catch the staff interacting with the majestic underwater creatures. If you get lucky, you or your kids might even get the opportunity to feed the marine park’s inhabitants.
Make Learning More Fun
Take your learning experience up a notch by signing up for Aquaria KLCC’s Discovery Hunt. Open to guests ages six and up, it marries fun and education through a scavenger hunt-like activity that encourages everyone to check out every attraction the aquarium has to offer. Simply hunt for clues and receive a special prize at the end of your mini-adventure.
Swim With Sharks
Swimming with sharks may seem like a daunting activity for many, but if you’re a daredevil with the guts for unique experiences, this activity is a mustn’t-miss! Aquaria KLCC invites you to swim with five species of the much-feared creatures of the deep in a 2.5-million liter oceanarium tank. Do note, though, that only certified divers will be allowed to participate in this kind of activity.
