The Best Happy Hour Deals in Singapore

There used to be a time when Happy Hour deals meant having drinks for cheaper if you arrived at the bar early. Nowadays, there are Happy Hour specials even during peak hours on Friday nights.

But hey, we’re not complaining. Our friends over at SG Magazine are here to dish out the city’s best deals for beers, wines, sakes and cocktails alike. Cheers!

1864

Sofitel Singapore City Centre’s fifth floor lobby lounge may already be a popular spot for their luxurious High Tea sets, but from 5pm onwards, the place turns into a full-on cocktail bar. Come between then and 7pm and enjoy their Happy Hour, where special treats and selected beers, wines and house pours go for only $12.

360 Lounge

Hidden on the 20th floor of Oxley Tower, smack in our CBD, this elegant lounge spot is not a place you’d expect killer $6 deals for beers and house pours Mon-Sat from 5.30pm-8.30pm. So bring the crew, find a plush corner to call your own and your night is set.

Alchemist Beer Lab

This South Beach Avenue haunt and sister venue to Little Island Brewing Co. is a pioneer for infused beer. Get $12-13 pints or $32-35 jugs of their delicious draft infusions from 4pm-9pm on Mon-Wed and from 4pm-7pm on Thu-Sat. The Happy Hour extends to their infused cocktails on tap too, that ranges from $12-15.

Al Capone’s Ristorante & Bar

Technically not a Happy Hour deal, but this *Scape diner and bar deserves a spot on this list just for offering three bottles of Heineken at $13 nett (yes, nett), all day, every day. Pints of Guinness on tap go for only $8.80 nett while Monkey Shoulder and Hendrick’s Gin bottles will set you back just $85 each.

Alley Bar

Another Orchard stalwart, Alley Bar keeps your tab going with $10 beers, $8 wines and $6 house spirits available from 5-9pm every night. On Tuesdays after 9pm, you’ll get shots of Blow Jobs and Lemon Drops for just $5.

Alter Ego

Happy Hours happen from 6pm till closing so you can have their famed grilled cheese with your drinks after work every single day at this Esplanade bayside joint. There are G&Ts going for just $5, pints of beer at $11, 1-for-1 house whites and reds for $16, and bottled beers at only $5-6.

Bar Vagabond

Feel classy (and a little tipsy) as your sip on cocktails at The Vagabond Club hotel’s oriental chic bar. Meant to lure in the after work crowd, 1-for-1 drinks happen from 5-8pm every weekday. Make sure to try something from their list of Asian-inspired concoctions.

Beer Factory

With a name like that, you can be sure there’s plenty of beer options here. Happy Hours happen from 3-7pm for $8.80 pints of craft beers. But if you’re already there before 7pm, you get to enjoy the deal all night long. Great way to keep us drinkin’ there ’til we’re done.

Bee’s Knees

Find yourself in the serene surrounds of the Botanic Gardens and in need of a cold one? Bee’s Knees at the ground level of The Garage offers $20 for two pints of beers every day from 5-8pm, so there’s no need to go thirsty while frolicking in our first UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Bistro 1855

1855 The Bottle Shop’s restaurant and bar concept is the dependable place for a quaff or two (or three, or four) given its accessibility and locale at Suntec City. Happy Hours are permanent here, with half pint draft beers starting from $6, and wines and house pour spirits at $8 a glass.

The Brightside

Duxton’s casual, happy place makes good on their promise with beers on tap (Asahi Super Dry and Connor’s Stout), house wines, prosecco, Aperol Spritz and Pimms at only $8 nett from Mon-Sat before 8pm, while cocktails are going for just $12. On Thursdays, cocktails are at $12 all night long.

Cook & Brew

Make every Wednesday and Friday a Cook & Brew night. The Westin Singapore’s sky-high contemporary gastrobar offers $10 nett deals on house wines, beers, spirits and classic cocktails from 5pm till closing on those two days of the week, plus live band performances from 6pm to keep things upbeat.

The Exchange

Those working in the CBD probably have this place bookmarked already. Their Happy Hour deal happens 9am-8pm daily, and all night long on Fridays, where bottled beers and house pour spirits go for $8.50 while wines are $12.50 a glass. There are bucket deals too, like five bottles of San Miguel going for $40.

Five Oriental

There are several Five bars around, but the one at Raffles Place is our fave. This place needs no introduction for its killer $5 Happy Hour promo on Kronenbourg beer, wines and house pours all day, every day. The $5 deal extends to some bites as well, so you save on food too.

The Guild

Some of Hong Kong’s best craft beers at Happy Hour prices? Count us in. Have a range of their brews (and their housemade G&T) on tap for just $10 from 5-7pm, Tue-Sun. You can’t go wrong with the well-balanced Classic Pale Ale, or trust us and get the refreshingly addictive Another One session ale.

Jekyll & Hyde

We are well aware how damaging to the wallet cocktail bars can be. This Tras Street stalwart is making it just a tad better with $5 off all drinks from 5-8pm daily. Be sure to try their signature Mr Bean, a concoction that comes with actual soy beancurd.

Jibiru

Happy hours are practically an all-day, everyday occurrence at this Japanese craft beer stall. From 12-6pm, all pints are at a flat rate of $10.50 and from 6-8pm, it’s at $12.50. If you haven’t already been to the 313@Somerset joint, they are best known for stocking Hitachino Nest ales and other Japanese craft brews on tap.

Kanpai 789

Again, technically not a Happy Hour deal, but with full pints of Sapporo Premium ($6.80) and Sapporo Black ($7.80) going at prices like these, there’s no reason not to make Kanpai your default watering hole. The Japanese beer garden has two outlets, one in Robertson Walk (go to this one, it’s nicer) and another on Church Street.

KPO Cafe Bar

Occupying the ol’ Killiney Post Office building, Orchard mainstay KPO offers an impressive drinks list that ensures there’s something for everyone. Enjoy the 1-for-1 draft beers all night long every Saturday or $50 for a bucket of five bottles of beer all other nights, including Fridays.

Loof

Come as early as you can to the rooftop of Odeon Towers, because the earlier you can skive off from the office, the cheaper the Happy Hour deal gets here.

Loof’s “beat the clock” concept is simple: house pours, wines and beers are $5 a pop from 5-6pm, $6 from 6-7pm and $7 from 7-8pm. Talk about being rewarded for shirking work.

Malthouse

It doesn’t get much better than having your pick of 12 different craft beers on tap for just $10 a pint. So reserve your Tuesdays for this Siglap favorite when Happy Hours take place from 4pm opening till 8pm. All pizzas go for only $10 on Tuesdays too, so have your dinner here while you’re at it.

Morganfield’s (Suntec City)

They’ve got Happy Hours going on at all their outlets, but the one at Suntec City offers the best deal with $5 pours of beers, wines and house pour spirits available from 5-7pm every weekday.

Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar

Boasting the longest Happy Hour in town, this cosy space nestled within the Tanglin Post Office building offers 1-for-1 deals on draft pints of Kronenbourg 1664 Lager, Kronenbourg 1664 Blanc and Connor’s Stout from 9am-9pm daily.

No. 5 Emerald Hill

This Orchard Road staple is one of the best for its $8 house pours (mind you, it’s a gentleman’s pour, which is 45ml instead of the standard 30ml) and $10 house wines until 9pm daily. The fun doesn’t stop there; from 9pm-1am daily, continue imbibing 1-for-1 martinis. Did we mention they have great prawn paste chicken wings too?

Platypus Cantina

Every day from opening till 9pm, all draft beers, wines and cocktails here go for only $9. There are other special deals going on each day of the week at this Joo Chiat haunt too, like $7 sangrias on Wednesdays and $6 mimosas on the weekends.

Plus of course, taco Tuesdays ($4.90 for two tacos). There’s also free (yes, free, with no catch) spiced popcorn every day.

Propeller

With killer panoramic views, daily evening fireworks (around 8pm) courtesy of a few Sentosa attractions across the boardwalk, and $8 for house reds and whites from 5-8pm every day, the rooftop bar of Bay Hotel Singapore is the place to be.

Enjoy afterwork drinks in the Harbourfront area and have your dinner here while you’re at it.

Publico Ristorante/Marcello

Publico by day, Marcello by night, this restaurant and bar at the InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay is a great riverside aperitivo spot. Publico’s Spritz Sessions takes place every weekday from 4-7pm with $12 spritz cocktails.

They come with complimentary signature white pizza bread, followed by Marcello’s Aperitivo Hour from 7-9pm, Mon-Sat, where there’s $10 Spritzes served with smoked olives and Italian aged parmesan.

The Spot

This new Marina One spot is already an after work favorite among the nearby office crowd and we can see why. It’s an easy place for $12 pints of Asahi Super Dry and sparkling wine, as well as for $10 house whites and reds and selected drams of spirits. Make sure to come for the food too. Happy hours are from 5-9pm, Mon-Sat.

Standing Sushi Bar

With three different venues in town (Queen Street, Marina Bay and Raffles Place) and an unbeatable Happy Hour deal, it’s little wonder why there are always snaking queues here. There’s a different promo each day, but dinner time on Mondays and Thursdays is when there’s $3 salmon sashimi, $2 sakes and $5 beers, wines, hot sake and umeshu.

Super Loco

Go loco every Mon-Fri at any of the three Super Loco joints in town (Robertson Quay, Duxton or Customs House). From 5-7pm, house wines and spirits, cava, choice beers and select margaritas will be going for just $9. What are you waiting for amigos?

Tanuki Raw (Kapok)

Happening from 5-8pm daily, this popular Happy Hour offers $10 martinis and cocktails, and $12 pints. Need we say more? Yes we do: freshly-shucked oysters go for $2 each.

From 5-7pm, there are free katsu-crust beef sliders with every purchase of a cocktail or mocktail. There’s an outlet at Orchard too, but the one at National Design Centre is our favorite.

TAP Craft Beer Bar

The open concept craft beer bar with 20 rotating taps and over 80 bottles of craft beer also has an all day, everyday Happy Hour. Full pints (and wine) go for just $10 while 12oz beers are $8 each. They’ve got a newer Robertson Quay outlet, but the OG Capitol Piazza one’s still got our hearts.

The Trading Floor

This one’s for all you whiskey lovers. Trade in your hard-earned cash for drams of Glen Garioch, Macallan and Nikka for $14 each till 11pm daily at this Carlton City Hotel lounge. If you come between 5-8pm, whiskey prices range from just $10-12. There are $10 house wines, $13 pints of beer and classic cocktails from $11-14 too.

Urbana

Head 33 levels up the Courtyard by Marriott Singapore Novena hotel and you’ll find the highest rooftop bar this side of town. Choose between indoor and al fresco seating, then take in a grand view of Singapore’s skyline while enjoying the 1-for-1 Happy Hour deal (not applicable for bottles) that happens 5-8pm daily.
