Who could forget the love affair between the cold-hearted Dao Ming Si and headstrong Shan Cai? It’s been sixteen years since we fell in love with the fictional couple and the original F4, and earlier this year, Meteor Garden creator Angie Chai announced a 2018 remake of the popular Taiwanese drama.
The announcement sent waves of nostalgia all over the internet, but die-hard fan Suzanne Dolorito and her friends decided to take it a step further during their trip to Chiayi, Taiwan. They decided to visit National Chung Cheng University—the real-life Ying De University—and relived some of the most iconic moments from the show!
According to Suzanne, you could practically hear Qing Fei De Yi’s music in the background the minute you step onto the university entrance.
The scene that set everything in motion: Shan Cai receives a red card from the F4.
#F4Fever meant that everyone a favorite member: Brooding leader Dao Ming Si, quiet Hua Ze Lei, playboy Xi Men, and funny Mei Zuo.
Another picture-perfect moment is when Shan Cai meets her childhood friend, Shing Ha. According to the Chung Cheng students, it’s called ‘Tranquility Lake.’
And there’s no forgetting that scene by the university entrance when Dao Ming Si and Hua Ze Lei physically fought over Shan Cai’s love. Probably the only thing more memorable here is the pineapple hair!
Of course, in between all the drama, Shan Cai and the F4 were still students. Suzanne and her friends managed to find these spots as well!
16 years after and we can still recognize the iconic F4 entrance.
Suzanne calls the experience, “An ultimate throwback of feels!” And looking at the photos, we can’t help but agree. Check out the rest of her photos over here and pump yourself up for next year!
Planning to do your own throwback? National Chung Cheng University is in Chiayi county, where you can also visit the Alishan Forest and Everlasting Bridge. Relive Meteor Garden, make your own soap opera moments and photos, and explore scenic Chiayi when you book with KKday!
